The Plant Hunter is the garden design practice of Paul Studholme, based in East Horsley and working across Surrey — Cobham, Weybridge, Guildford and the surrounding villages — with over 30 years of horticultural experience behind it.
The work is plant-led. Rather than treating planting as the finishing touch, the plants shape the structure: the structure exists to support the planting, not the other way round. Every project begins with a site visit to understand the conditions before anything is drawn, and schemes are designed to mature over time rather than peak on the day they are finished.
Services include full garden design and project oversight from concept to completion, standalone planting design for existing layouts, specimen planting, living walls and irrigation — plus stewardship, ongoing guidance through the first three years while a garden establishes itself.
